Hey everyone, I know many of you are wondering how badly Creem and I are decomposing, whether it's a shallow grave, or sharing a spot in Davy Jone's locker...I sincerely apologize for our absence. We both had a case of RL slapping us around a bit and keeping us away from our SL counterparts. Me moreso in some ways, Creem in others. SL and RL goes on..and on. Anyhow, this isn't a personal blog so I'll cut to the chase!
The VICE reference website (this site!) was down for several weeks due to my credit card on file expiring. Doh! Additionally, when I had returned I had noticed that our CMS (Content Management System), Mambo, had a vulnerability exploited which inserted a secret iframe to link up to some spammy adcash sites. Users would not have been able to see the spammy adsites that were linked, but they were there. Just want to remind everyone about the importance of using up to date antivirus and javascript blocking add on tools for your browser, such as NoScript.
I'll be looking at using a new CMS system for VICE and refreshing the look and feel. I know no one uses the forums, but damned if they aren't entertaining to have. Hope everyone is doing well! VICE will be 3 years old in another month!

After going through transaction logs, we have found that the VICE 1.2.0 SDK has been distributed to over 100 content creators and players via XStreet SL, and inworld locations in the short amount of time since our release! We have no way of tracking how many of the packages are sent from avatar to avatar, but the adoption of 1.2.0 is in full swing! A big thanks to everyone for helping make VICE 1.2.0 and all previous versions a smashing success!

In other News:
The Unit Stats & Loadouts page has been updated with a clearer explanation of how the weapons loadouts operate, with a thorough explanation of the weapons accounting for the gun type weapons.
Based on input from end users, we are currently evaluating the addition of several exciting customizable features for future 1.2.X versions (these version will be backwards compatible with any VICE version of the same name (ie: 1.2.6 will always be compatible with 1.2.0, etc). |

| It's been a long time coming, but we are happy to announce the official release of VICE v.1.2.0!
Some of the new 1.2.0 include a new weapon weapon and bomb type, adjustable HP, ability to mix and match vehicle weapons, and many many fixes and improvements. Please see the VICE Changelog for a complete list of improvements in this version! VICE 1.2.0 is a major version change, so those using 1.1.2 will need to upgrade by simply swapping with the newer sensors.
If you own a product that is using VICE 1.1.2 that has not been updated within 2 weeks of this writing, we strongly encourage you to contact the content creator to upgrade. |
